FOR FIRE EMERGENCIES, CALL 911
FIRE PERMIT SEASON IN EFFECT
APRIL 1ST TO OCTOBER 31ST, 2010
The Fire Permit season in Lac Ste. Anne County begins April 1st annually. Thank you to all the residents who called the Administration Office during the winter season to let us know about controlled burns. This helped to avoid unnecessary responses by our Fire Departments and was appreciated. Please make sure that any lingering ground fires are extinguished promptly. Anyone who conducted winter burning MUST ensure that the fire is completely extinguished by April 1st. Permits will not be issued for existing fires nor for ground fires; therefore, any existing fires must be extinguished immediately.
All Lac Ste. Anne County residents must obtain a fire permit for any outdoor fire between April 1st and November 1st annually. It is unlawful to burn without a fire permit. Fire permits are free, so your cooperation is appreciated.
A PERMIT IS REQUIRED FOR BURN BARRELS AND THE ADVERTISED PERMIT APPLICATION FORM MAY BE COMPLETED AND MAILED OR FAXED TO LAC STE. ANNE COUNTY. The permit application can also be found on the county's web site (www.gov.lacsteanne.ab.ca). Fire Guardians will be randomly confirming information provided on your application so please make sure that your burn barrel conforms to the regulations as stated on the permit. IMPORTANT: Burn Barrels are not permitted in Hamlets and Multi-Parcel Subdivisions.
Residents interested in obtaining Forest & Prairie Fire Insurance should contact thier Insurance Agent, as some Insurance companines and borkers offer this type of insurance as an add-on to existing farm policies.
To obtain a Fire Permit please contact the Fire Guardians in your Division, listed above, or call the County Office. NOTE: Fire Guardians will respond within 24 hours to make arrangements for issuing a permit, so please plan your burning with this in mind.
